5" Exhaust
sorry for the lengthy rebuttle. Urs was better, Im just tired of seein all these threads about people wanting a good 5" straight pipe and all people have to say to them is...get a muffler.
who needs that
. I like ur style
IMO there's nothing wrong with a 4", 5", or 6" straight pipe. I like big exhausts, as they sound nice and deep. The exception is when one has a stock turbo with a straight pipe. They sound shrill and harsh without a muffler. Put a proper turbo on and it's all good. If not, put some sort of resonator or muffler on to cut the harshness (from the restrictive 9cm housing and wastegate) and leave the nice deep rumble that comes from the mighty Cummins.
In my previous post I was just commenting on the BS systems out there that use the stock elbow and downpipe, while advertising that they're 5" systems. Why bother with a 5" downpipe-back pipe? You're not going to gain anything performance-wise.
Cheers~
It's all good fun
my truck is stupid loud, i made up my own system, i have a 5 inch Rolling Big Power down pipe, a 5 inch Rolling Big Power intermediate pipe, a D.N.A 5 inch Race muffler, it is a strait thru design muffler, it is 15 inches long, then i have a 5 inch 45 degree bend that exits out before the rear tire with a Rolling Big Power 5 to 6 inch tip, the tip is 18 inches long. i love the exhaust drone and how loud it is, it is so funny to see how mad people get that have there windows when i drive bye. when i pass thru a school zone little kids cover there ears. the only thing i dont like about strait pipes is it make our trucks sound like Mack trucks, with a muffler you get some kind of exhaust tone and throatyness versus the rattling semi sound of strait piping
Chicks love loud trucks and stacks
