Thumbs up 48re TC/Trans UPGRADED - NOT BIG 3

Just picked up my truck, had the TC and Transmission upgraded. I am all .

Researched every post and company out there for six months trying to decide what direction to go. I am in my third childhood and want to play at the drag strip again. I finally decided to let Michael at www.hotroddiesels.com do the upgrades. He convinced me that there are options besides the big three.

Summary of upgrades:

Dunrite Triple Disc Converter(Custom Ordered for specific HP/Stall)
Billet Input, Intermediate and Output Shafts
Dunrite Master Transmission Rebuild Kit
Pulled transmission completely down
Added clutch disc to each clutch pack
Custom machined each part to exact specification
Michael spent a lot of time with Piers and Tony at Dunrite and came up with some new ideas of his own. I couldn't explain them all correctly if I tried, he lost me after the first 20 minutes or so pointing out each one.

If I drive my age the truck shifts and drives smooth as silk, feels like stock without the mushy TC.

Today was the first time I had the ***** to launch in 4wd with about 15lbs of boost. I can not explain the difference, but I am still smiling. It is just awesome. I am at about 425-450rwhp now. Even that meager HP is awesome when you can actually put it on the ground. I do plan to get to 550+rwhp as soon as the pocket book recovers. The TC/Trans should hold 650-700hp I am told.

Just thought I would let every one know there are other very good options out there for TC/Trans upgrades. If you are in the Houston area I highly recommend Michael at Hot Rod Diesels for any performance work on your Cummins.

Transmission Upgrades

Thanks John for the kind words.

If you’re looking to have transmission work done I recommend using a local shop so you can get the personal service that you deserve. We local shops can’t always offer cheaper prices but it’s hard to beat our service and attention. We don’t ship transmissions because it’s the setup that makes the difference. You can’t make it right if it isn’t in the truck as each truck has different needs and each driver has different wants.
Feel free to call and talk about what you want and I will do my best to see you have a good experience at HotRodDiesels.
Michael
