had my donaldson muffler installed this morning. i was worried that it might be too loud-but i am very pleased. at idle, you can hear alittle bit more rumble-( when standing outside of the truck). when cruising, it might be a tad bit louder-not much though. just a deeper, "throatier" sound. now, when you step on it from a light and let the rpm's climb a bit- that is when you can really hear the difference! you can hear it in the cab then-but it is a nice deep sound. also, no drone what so ever.

kept the cat. decided too- after reading several posts on here,that you don't gain anything taking it off-except potential headache's.new york state doesn't require emissions testing on diesels-YET!

 

just wondering, because when i had my 03 i was looking at the 51" donaldson or nelson mufflers and they sounded like they were perfect for me, not to loud but yet sounds better than stock, well with my new 05 and the cat i wasn't sure what to get so i thought the 41" would be the ticket for the sound im looking for.

in my gallery I have the 41 on mine with out the kitty, great sounds and no drone. mounted up as close to the engine as you can.
