400,000 Miles on 2005... What now?

I can't use the regular forum due to adding my Triple Dog and Stacks. Question is now that I am near the 400,000 mile mark what should I do? What is the actual lifespan before rebuild? Original automatic too. Haven't changed anything, but brakes and joints. Ran on Tow Mode for last 300,000 miles.

Thumbs up

Nice, id just keep on trucking, changing fluids/filters, maybe check the bands on the tranny if you havent already.

Thats great mileage though, better knock on some wood so you dont jinx it!

Well my suggestion is to get out the super glue and duct tape, because all the "other guys" will tell you that the dodges are junk and can't hold up... I make it a point to carry an emergency kit like this... I am just waiting for my doors to fall off so I can tape them back on but I guess they forgot to design it into my particular truck.

Keep the fluids changed and keep driving it, when you hit 500k post the same question again, heck in fact just copy and paste this post and you will only have to change the mileage #'s

Thanks for all the comments. Mileage is going to slim down this year. I was hauling east to west, but that deal has fallen through. People are running for near free now. Has anyone here had a problem with miles? I still crank it up and put the pedal down every now and then. Seeing the black smoke roll out the stacks makes it all worthwhile.

I added my the picture to my account. Looks like the day I bought it. I was hauling for a company that moved items for Ebay. Mostly gooseneck flatbed with a couple cars. Easy loads. I am only registered at 26k so the most I can pull is 13800. Working another job now and hauling on weekends locally (500mi radius). This truck has never let me down. Does not start below 0 is only downfall.

That's good stuff. Don't listen to the naysayers...

I would give Cummins a shout and ask them if they have any suggestions. Do you have your oil checked? (blackstone or the like?)

Fluids, proper warm up and cool down... you know this already. We had a 93 or 95 that had close to a million on it, and we beat the snot out of it. Stock, tho.

Transmission work fine. Since the miles seem to be drawing attention I should let everyone know this truck has not had a taste of synthetic oil. I ran a additive from Muscle Products in all my fluids. I am a believer in keeping the fluids changed. This includes the rear ends. I've went through alot of oil and fuel, but my bailout check still has not arrived...

Yes. My fluids were tested everytime. I am thinking these engines were way overdesigned for a pickup. It doesn't even act like it's wearing. As for your million mile mark, I will not make it. My OTR days are done. Time to give her fuel and have some fun. Going to put some mods on this summer.
