4.3 and Flux 2s or TNT and Flux 1.5s

I had planned on running the TNT tune with flux 1.5, but i don’t plan on springs for quite a while. After reading a few posts about the TNT killing parts, I’m a little hesitant to try it. What do you guys think would I be better off running Beta 4.3 and flux 2s, as opposed to 1.5s with the TNT. The main reason that I was going to go with 1.5s is in case I need to tow a little. They would allow for more adjustability. My goal is 600+ without a modded cp3. Any input? Thanks Joel

Split the difference and call it good with 1.8's

I towed with 3.3's with version 4.11 on SW 3 aftermarket injectors and was surprisingly easy. Load was only 9k lbs on flat land but it wasn't to bad. Smoke levels were actually very controlable. I bet sw 1 would ofbeen better

That makes me feel better about the 2s! 3.3 are lots bigger. Im a little worried about RP with the 2s tho. My stocker keeps up great now, but im worried that the stix will kill RP and Ill loose power. Do you guys think i would be better off running 4.3 and 2s. I really wanted to run the TNT tune on the dyno, and at the track but since I dont have a real job yet i cant afford to kill my motor!

If your gonna run an aggressive fuel program on your truck your cp3 probly wont keep up under power. I like the bigger sticks personally but if your not goin with a cp3 upgrade id stay with the smaller ones.

You'll be fine with 2's, mine don't smoke at all with the chips off. I don't think I would have a problem at all pulling 20,000 pounds everyday. 600 on a stock pump is gonna be strectching it though. I doubt I can make 600 on my truck with this stock pump it is really holding me back.

I run fluxs 1.5s with TNT-R and was going bigger on injectors , but these 1.5s rip I never feel any fuel starvation anywhere in the power ever !

the cool thing with the 1.5s is you can run a 4.4 beta on the street or towing with zero smoke on #9

now if you boost launch then of course you can still black out an entire roadway.

flux 1.5s have just been amazing on my truck, fuel mpgs are exceptional , towing is A-1 , and truck just pulls like a freight train
I also had a set of 1.8s and my truck runs better with the 1.5s ? go figure ?

I am at the point where everything seems so balanced with my setup that for now I don't want to mess with changing to a bigger injector cause its just sick fast now & have a good thing going right now with this setup !

kudos to Don M on injector design people that ride in my truck can't believe I only have 1.5 sticks

TNT-R # 9 with mp-8 on 50-60% = killer power & zero injector rattle

Do you guys think it would be ok to run the 1.5s and TNT for dyno and track runs, but 4.3 the rest of the time. From what I understand problems are arising because of rpms in excess of 3500?

I thought i read where the TNT/R was the only 4000 rpm tune, and the TNT was a regular 3500 rpm tune. You should be just fine running TNT with the set up you have now.

I was hoping to run the stock rev tune, but Im a little worried that it might not be very safe to do with stock springs.

GET SPRINGS THEN!

They are not a big investment.

After seeing a little valve slap on top of pistons here, there at 3500 rpm and boost over 40... I don't feel comfortable telling anyone it's OK on stock springs.

Caution, safety, and moderation should be the mantras of the day. It's like Marco gave everyone what they asked for, (highest possible performance), and right off the bat a lot of folks are trying to use shortcuts so they can play without the pay... except they end up paying more later... just like the old Fram commercial: "pay me now or pay me later"...

Would you run nitromethane in your wifes car?? Maybe you could get away with it... for a second or so..

I would but I dont plan on keeping this truck for much longer. I want an auto and build it up the right way, twins, pumps, studs, springs, cam, etc. Im just hoping to hit 600 at a dyno day on May 10. So i wouldnt be running it everyday, just for a couple dyno pulls. I agree tho, better safe than sorry. Thats the point of the question, I just wanted feedback on what way to go. Smaller injectors and more electronics or vice-versa

Need 2.0's to 2.5's to hit 600 on a Smarty alone...with a stock pump.

Really, I spoke with Tim today and he said he has seen a 555 go 600 with flux 1s, TST, MP8 stack and a really small set a twins. He said that my turbo wouldnt quite flow as much air. But he thought 600 would be the ragged edge. Maybe I shouldnt have sold my TST?
