Talking 3rd Gen HID fix

Hey, I purchased a 55 watt 5000K Bi Xenon kit that came with a relay that controls the ballasts from one headlight...
I was having the on off flashing problem, and have purchased the 6 Ohm 25watt resistors and was able to get the low beams working... I know there are some company's selling a capacitor/ resistor module that is supposed to trick the computer, get high and low beams working and get rid of the lamp out warning on the dash.

Does anyone know who is selling these?
And also I should mention that it is a Canadian truck with Daytime running lights... If somebody has a fix for me that would sure be great!!!
Thanks,

Here ya go, https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...t-t242585.html

These resistors fixed my on/off flashing problem as well as got the "lamp out" light to go away. Are you running two resistors on each side...one low beam positive wire to the resistor with the other end connected to the OEM connector ground then another with the high beam positive wire to the resistor with the other end connected to the OEM ground? Once you do that to the passenger side (assuming you already did the driver's side), that will get rid of the "lamp out" display. There are so many HID companies out there with different relays and ballasts, etc., you'll prob have to find someone who has that same one as you and see if they can suggest anything. Not sure how the daytime running lights come into play with this, either.

I called HID SPEED in Cali and they fixed me up with my bixenons with their resister/capacitor kit. I would call them and tell them what issues you are having and that you have DTRL and they will be able to hook ya up.

I put in some 3000mf capacitors to keep the lamp out light off and they work great. You should be able to find these pretty cheap at a local electronics shop. The Front Control Module checks resistance of each bulb circuit. So as long as it sees a low resistance then it will continue to feed power.

I used 8ohm 20 watt resistors on my HIDs

So you just used caps.. no resistors?.. Did you use a cap from ground to low beam pos, ground to low beam high on both sides?

I thought the ecm would want to see a constand load comparable to a headlight load to not put on warning light... If this works it is a way better fix in my opinion, not wasting a bunch of power on hot resistors..

Thanks

I didn't have enough resistors to try 2 for low and 2 for high.. When I put one resistor in the low beam passenger side it stopped the blinking, (this is the side my hid relay is fed from) when I switch to high beam it starts flashing again... when I put the other resistor in the high beam circuit passenger side it switches my highbeams on???

I still need to read the thread you sent me a link to... I checked out your mods in your sig... nice work!! That thing must be sick!!

I've read a few people say that the computer only looks for the load on the low beam side, so you could put one on the driver side low beam and one on the passenger side if you only have two. You could at least try that.

Thanks for the compliments...it sure is fun to drive!!!

Dubbs the capacitors do work I have been running mine for over a year with no problems. It's not a kit it's just plain old capacitors that you can get at any electronics store. The front control module looks for load on both high and low beams, turn signals ft and rear, brake lights only the lower ones not the third. I'm not sure about fog lights though.

Thanks,

I will try these and save the 85$ hid speed wants for their harness.. From the pics on their website it just looks like 2 resistors and another relay??

By chance do you know anything about eliminating my running lights?

From the looks of the schematics DRL is built into the FCM. FCM pulse width modulates power to the bulbs to give you DRL. From what I can tell either you need a program to turn it off or you need a new FCM from a dealer.
