Personal experience tells me the Nitto tires(which I think I read were owned by the same company) wear real fast and are ulktra exspensive. Im glad you like yours cquest but they arent for everybody. Tread seperation sucks, must've just been a bad set but I just exspect more from a tire that costs as much as college tuition.

The only size I can find in the nittos terras is 265s and 295s for 17" rims. If I could get a 315, that is what I would run.

Tristan, what size did you run?

I know they make some duplicat sizes. I friend of mine put a set on a superduty and within about 8-10k they were pretty much shot. He went to the tire store and they realized that there where 2 265/75/16s. One is a c range and the other an e range. They gave him Cs, thus his problem. Other than that I have heard nothin but good things from nittos.

wap if I remember right those were 285/70/16's that I ran on the old half ton. I usually keep my old tires for a barrier for the kids' go cart track but the local dealer wanted to keep those to show his rep or something. I got a real sweet deal on the truxus tires that I put on there just before I sold the truck though.

Check out Cooper tires , they have a nice looking street-able tire in a 315/70/17 and it has a 3150 lbs. rating. These are what I am going to get this spring , when I put the summer treads back on. I have used Cooper tires for years , have been very happy with them.

I recently made the switch from 315 BFG's to 315-70-17 Goodyear Wrangler's & i'm very happy with the tires. Very little road noise, great handling, much improved ride quality, & speed rated.

The biggest street tire available is a toyo proxis 315 50 20, I havent looked at the 17 or 19's but I would imagine that they are the same, the 315 50 is 33 " tall. Most brands have the 305 as their biggest street tire, which is approx 32" tall. These are all mostly a 120h rated tire which is a load rating of 3086lbs, which is plenty for our trucks if you dont carry anything of great value. You can easily carry up to 3000lbs in your box with those load ratings.

The advantage of going to a street tire as such is unsprung weight savings, you can quite easily shave off 100 to 200lbs of unsprung weight, which is huge when racing, also the p metric tires such as these tend to have a softer compound which will aid in traction for racing

I havnt received them yet but I ordered a set of 315 70 17 Pro Comp Xtream mud terrain (not xterrain) tires from four wheel parts they said would be here by friday. They are supposed to be "D" rated tires and no one has them yet. They said you wont see them in the mags for another month or 2 but I think it was the new four wheeler that just came in the mail that had a good picture of them. Supposed to have a 3200lb rating and be quiet but still are more aggressive than the other muds that pro comp had previously avaliable.

I was looking for Coopers (the only tire owned and made in the US according to BUY american.com) but I just didnt see any I liked. Not a very well publisized tire in the mags or locally.

I paid $1298.00 with 4 pro comp tires, 4 es9000 shocks, free shipping, 100 gift certificate mailed to the house after the sale (which will come in handy when I order that front locker) and a no questions asked tire warranty that offered even side wall gashes,etc.... You gotta heckle em but its worth it
