2006 newbee Q's

HI first of my name is Scott and im a University of Wyoming student from colorado. this is my first post. But i have been looking around since i bought my truck. Lots of great info here. My question is im looking at adding more power to my truck because i have always had lifted jeeps and there was never any need to add power just more suspension. I was originaly looking at getting the Edge Juice with attutude. Then i was reading about the smarty and i want power and i like the safty feature of the edge but i want smoke and more people seem to be happy with the smarty. Im looking at getting the smarty and setting it on level 3 because i have the stock auto trany and then getting an aFe stageII intake then some autometer gauges. I was wongering what you all thought of this idea and what kind of smoke i could get from this set up. Thanks for your help. I have also done searches on this..

Well you seem to be headed in the right direction in terms of understanding need for gauges regardless of the power adder you choose. The Smarty is capable of making a lot of smoke under the right circumstances. It is wise to leave it on sw3 with stock auto. I would get gauges before the intake. With only a smarty and running only sw3, the need for the Afe stage II is really quite minimal. Look into doing the *****'s whistler if you like to do things yourself and are handy. Lots cheaper and "DIY" satisfaction. You could just swiss cheese the stock airbox with aftermarket filter and have good results too. Smarty will give you lots of room to grow into power, but you have to be responsible for it as it has no safeties to get all that power!

You've got the right idea!!! Gauges, Smarty, Drop In Filter, Replace muffler...leave it on level 3...and you'll be happy as a clam and wont have much risk to hurt anything....i drove mine like that for 10k miles (before the built trans that allowed me to go to level 9)...and was perfectly happy...could have kept it like that forever....but had the money for the trans so why not try level 9!
