There is another thread going on about converting from an 06.5 ECM to an 06 ECM. I am totally out of the know on this. Can someone fill me in on the differences/pros/cons?

subscribing, im intrested. I know my truck sfuse box has a spot for "AISIN control module" if that helps or matters any.

 

I don't think anybody really knows why the 06.5 ECM's don't play well with programmers/someboxes...but I bet ALL the diesel power companies are trying to figure it out


maybe Bob or Quad might have some insite??? But they may not want to give out their secrets either

ECm wise??? Just look at the build date... It is on the drivers side door with the bar code.... serial number sticker..

 

I believe the 06.5 ecm has more sensors and that is causing the problems.

I think trucks with 6-06 can go either way???
now go look through your drivers side wheel well and see what the build date on the ECM says..(mounted to the engine)

 

But the 06.5 trucks dont have any more sensors then a early 06 right??
the way I heard it was they made the ECM change for the 6.7's..but put them in the 06.5 too??

my truck was built 05-06. im guess i have the early ECM, or the "good" one. My smarty works great and i have never thrown any codes.

 

I did not think Smarty was part of the not working on 06.5 club???

 

My truck's build date 06/2006. I tried the Edge Juice/attitude, and it didn't work. They have released one for the 06.5, and it works just fine.

 

well i dunno either. im just saying.

 

I will check it out. The Superchips loaded fine as did the Diablo.
