I have a 2004 dodge 2500 ctd 4x4 auto tranny quad cab. Iam tring to fifgure out which engine i might have ive done some research and found 2 engines were installed that year maybe 3 my valve cover says 305 hp but i dont know if thats the smaller or larger, the 2004.5 have 325 hp what iam tring to find out is my towing capacity and the gcvwr of both trailer and truck i have 3.73

In 2003 there were three engines
CA special 235/460
SO 250/460
HO 305/555
In 2004 they dropped the CA and on January 4th 2004 the 325hp or 600 series engines showed up. If you valve cover says 305 you have a 2004, not 2004.5 engine.
