2004.5-2005 Quadzilla Customers Please Read!
all around ........ dramatic change from the original program, no misses at speed at all and all out smoother! will have to drive it a bit longer to see what the final results are and if any problems arise. I doubt it, Quad really did it this time, can't say more about a company going the extra mile for its customers. I need to clear my stored codes from the truck to start fresh and see if anything comes up. ( only reason I have codes is when I realised I had different wire colors I stopped what I was doing and then started the truck, without the box hooked up but the wire harness installed to map and fp )
Wow!
Ditto on mikmaze's post - got my updated box in yesterday, put about 100 miles on, then another 600 driving from Columbia to Tampa today. Power comes on both stronger and smoother, little to no smoke on highest setting, surge/miss is gone, and no codes or MIL/CELs! EGTs are no issue, highest I ever saw was while playing w/ a Powerjoke - on highest setting, ran hard uphill and down, never topped 1150. Also, injector clatter is reduced - was minimal before unless I romped it, but is much quieter now.I'll try making it back north on the 60 hp setting for halfway, and 100 hp for the last half to get some mileage figures. That was my intent on the way down, but got sidelined by the giggle factor.......
Quad - you done good, brother - and thanks for taking the high road, providing great customer service, and follow-up. I'll send business your way any day.

I have a more unusual situation. May or may not involve the Quad . . .
First, I noticed the Malfunction Indicator light was on. I checked codes, and got the 0148 code only. . . . I exchanged a couple emails with Quad.
A couple days later, the light went off and stayed off for a week or so. Then I noticed the light came back on, and now I had a funny barely discernible vibe ( could only detect it with my hand on the steering wheel. Never thought it might be related.
Yesterday, I was driving down Coast Hwy about 60mph, and a woman pulled up next to me, and told me I was leaking pretty bad. I pulled over, and had oil EVERYWHERE. It had formed a vapor behind my truck, and so much oil had fogged up on my tailgate that it was dripping down onto my bumper. Also my 'check gauges' light came on for lack of oil pressure. I thought it was due to an improper oil filter seal. I took it back to the place that did my oil change, and there was no leakage from the filter, or any other 'normal' place. They replaced my oil and filter anyway ( for lack of any better idea ), and I was on my way. The vibration was gone, and I was not leaking anymore.
Today, I noticed that the oil-pressure light came on again.
I called the Dealer this time, described the problem and made a service appointment. The service guy is a good guy, so I asked him off the record if I would have to remove my Quad. He said it didn't matter to him, but if one of the techs detects it, they may not cover repairs under warranty. . . I can live with that, I just have to remove the Quad. He also told me that after I remove it, I should be sure to drive at least five miles to remove the signs of the Quad from memory.
Here's the kicker. He said he has seen quite a few instances where the added pressure introduced by an aftermarket box has blown out seals, including oil seals. . . .
Can this POSSIBLY be the case ? ? ? ? ?

Sounds like a stuck injector to me. Most likely an injector failed and leaked diesel into the crankcase, overfilling the crankcase and running the excess out of the overflow tube.
Unfortunately this is not that uncommon with modified or unmodified trucks. If you had a weak injector to start with the added pressure could have helped it go sooner? It could have also been dirty fuel? It could have just been a bad injector. I know trucks that have had them fail with less than 1k on them and trucks that have over 100k?
These days injector replacement is the norm and not the expection so I would not worry about it too much.

Funny thing is I virtually never set the Quad past 60, and never drove it hard - like racing somebody, or even approaching the redline. Just mellow, around-town driving, and occasionally towing my boat.
So . . . I went out and pulled the Quad, cleared the code, called Dodge roadside assist, and sent 'er off to the Dealer. Estimated one week turnaround. That just sucks.
Well the injector still hasn't arrived, but the dealer told me that the repair WILL be covered under warranty. That is cool.
However, while I was talking to him he also mentioned that if they HAD detected the existence of the box, chances are good that it would have voided my coverage.
So . . . if any of you DO require service - get that box OUT. I removed mine, disconnected the battery for a while, and made everything look as kosher as possible.
Now I wonder if I want to re-install it . . . they're only replacing the one injector.
For Quad . . . can I send my QZ back to you for inspection ? ? ? Make sure everything is OK ? ? ? Maybe a re-program, if necessary ? ?

Update:
Haven't driven the truck a lot (I keep my camper on it), and I tow the boat sometimes.
Once again, I have the p0148, and an indicator light.
I wonder what is the association with the Quad ?

0148 means you are running out of fuel.
I think 0148 codes have been beat to death on the forums. Do a search and you will see that 99.9% of the time the fix is an aftermarket "pusher" pump.
The box is the cause and isn't the cause all at the same time. The box basically shows a weakness in the stock fuel system. You could probably replace your factory pump with a new one and the problem would disappear until that pump got weak as well.

I got a p0069 code. Does anybody have and idea what code this is? I have a wierd ticking noise coming somewhere from the engine and I am going to take it to the dealership to see if they can figure out what the hect it is. I just thought I would check my codes to see what pops up and see if it might have anything to do with the ticking noise. All i have is a quad x2, 5 inch straight pipe, with a 2004.5 dodge 3500 6 speed 4x4. Thanks guys
