The dataport was deleted as a cost cutting measure only.

Do you think the data port is noisier than the injectors?

Or do you think noise from the injectors is being broadcast through the dataport?

I'm kind of confused what you mean by the 3-pin black dataport being "noisy"

The injectors really aren't too noisy as they are jsut a solenoid. The data link seems to act as an antennea. I am not sure why or where the noise comes from, but we keep getting false and un-accurate measuements, like TP and RPM. Some trucks have it really bad and other trucks do not have it at all. I am not sure why or what? I just know that it was giving us fits.

Ok, I think I have enough people to at least make sure that we have teh little issues fixed. I beleive we have at least one of each of the different issues.

I will let the guys participating tell you if we fixed it or not.

Keep your eyes open for some pictures of the new monitor. You will be suprised!

Quad
Just a solenoid that pulls alot of current.

Anyway, I bet you'll find that the new CAN bus architecture and the totally integrated power module (TIPM) are the source.

all you have to do is turn the key on and off 3 times and leave in the on position the last time and the odometer will show you your stored codes!!!
Also quad I have the xzt box which does not use the bus port and I am getting the p0251 code. Could it be contributed to something in the programming of the box?

The one thing I don't understand is that if the CANbus is so noisy why doesn't the stock ECU have problems running the truck?

Do you have an Xzillaraider module?

The Bus itself is not noisy. I never said hte BUS was noisy. The datalink is noisy. The data link in itself is just 1 access point to retrieve data from the bus.

Also I am sure that the engineers that built the ECM know exactly what they needed to do in order to filter the noise if it is an issue on the lines coming to the ECM. I did not build the truck so I am not sure?

So do you have something to add or just armchair engineering?

If you really want to discuss this and are interested in helping out your fellow CTD drivers or helping us out then please call me so we can discuss this. I can put a few engineers on the phone and we can work out whatever you think you have solved.

Just "armchair" engineering here Quad, but statements you have made like the data link being noisy and solenoids not being noisy make me question alot about your product. I like to research products before I buy them, and statements you have made in the past leave a lot of questions in my mind about your modules design. I'll stop commenting for now tho and continue on with my module research.

I for one know nothing about engineering (only an Engineer for A BioTech Pharmecutical Manufacturing Plant) But problems can arise in different ways. Some peoples trucks take 12 quarts, some take 13, some people have a vib on there long beds, some dont. No two trucks are identical, so some will have problems, some won't. Noise in an electrical system are very tough, same with the CB. i had some people that when they used the CB would have all kinds of noise in the cab, I never did, same set up. We grow cells for making Enbrel. Sometimes they grow into the trillions, sometimes millions, we use the same amount each time, so what causes them to be that different? Just variations in them.
I think Quad is doing an excellent job (Only vendor that sells that also helps on the site) by taking questions, and also fixing problems for people for free. yeah you pay shipping, but I'd rather pay a few bucks for that than get a sorry from most other companys. I think that's the best part is customer service. Look how many people look for shop recomendations for where to take there trucks for service. Most dodge places don't even know about the high idle (now that's sorry)
Keep up the great work quad and You'll be getting an order from me soon (as soon as the insurance bill is over) Can't wait for your box.

Tom

CTD Hokie,

Just my own .02

I've been running the Quad race box and the Quad intake on my truck for about 8 months now and I've never had a problem EVER!

I've personally seen several posts where Quad has stated that he just wants every customer to be completely satisfied! How in the world can you fault that?

Quad uses these forums for further product research and development, hence you will see relatively minor problems brought forth and questions asked regarding them. (NEVER, have I seen major problems not addressed by Quad IMMEDIATELY!)

Quite frankly his products seem to be the most bang for the buck!

Rick

P.S. Yes I bought mine on line from the DTR store!

You really have some nerve bashing Quad on his product when you were on here in the past playing cheerleader for the awesome SP Diesel box and how great it was . Myself and MANY others dealt with that joke of a box for months trying to get a WORKING product to no avail ............ not even decent customer service . I notice you no longer have SP Diesel in your signature and the 400 + HP dyno runs hhhhhmmmmmmmmmm . In this day and age of poor quality and worthless customer service gentlemen like Quad who stand by their products should be commended . He could be like most and just keep your money !!! I have no affiliation at all with Quad nor do I have one of his boxes YET but after a few more miles I will probably use one of his boxes .
