I have just ordered pod gauges for my 2004 cummins, i have a volumizer chip on the truck. I ordered the egt, tranny temp and boost gauges, what are the degrees and so on i need to watch for on each of the gauges?

 

If the thermocouple probe is placed pre-turbo 1300F is the danger point and you want to stay below that. Also before shutting the truck off, let it idle until it reaches 300-350F for the turbo to cool down. Tranny temp, stay below 220F, at 230F find a place to pull over and let it cool down. Boost is fun to watch and you may notice it being lower than normal if a boot has slipped off or something like that.

 

What kind of mounting pod did you get? Did you find one for the "a" pillar? I like the pillar mounting the best but I am unable to find out who sells them. Any help?

 

Thanks for the info, the pod is from rpmoutlet.com and you can order them already painted to match the interior. it is a complete a post replacement

 

We jhave the pillar mounts in single, double or triple with the color already molded in.
