2004 2500 CTD mods

As of tuesday I'm the owner of a red 2500 ctd ram. ahh, my solid front axle beast monster of a truck is replacing a tahoe and I love it.

so it's been two days and I feel that my truck is too stock and I'm looking for some input from you experienced owners.

1. Leveling kit. not going to do a lift kit as i tow frequently (6,000lb travel trailer). being as leveling kits cost so little i'd like to get the absolute best one...any recommendations. and how does it affect towing. I want to avoid the look wherein some jacka** is towing something and his truck sags in the back and the front is higher off the ground.

2. Tires. I have a 4.10 ratio so not to worried there. the 265's are small. any input as to the 285, 295, 315's....time to post some pictures and brag!

3. I love the power wagon and am thinking of getting the OEM flares. pain to install?? don't think it'll be hard...just remount cummins badge.

4. exhaust...not going to mess with electronics, etc, just want a simple, quality system, good sound, not obscenely loud.

really appreciate the help, look foward to seeing some good pictures.

Scott

Welcome to DTR and congratulations on your new truck! This picture of mine above has a 2'' Leveling kit from Hell Bent Steel.

Also, I added the Power Wagon flares (easy install) and 285 BFG All-Terrain KO tires.

For exhaust I added a 30'' Magnaflow and I think it sounds awesome. Especially with the AFE Stage 2 opening up the air for the turbo.

Hope that helps! Good luck.

how did the removal of the cummins badge go? did you relocate it or just keep it off?

There may be other methods of doing it......but I just used a plastic scraper and carefully pried them off. That was the easy part.

The hard part is getting the glue stuff off. I used mineral spirits and wd40 and WHOLE bunch of ELBOW grease. IT will finally wear down and come off.

Afterward I washed it, then put two coats of wax wear the badge was.

I actually bought two new badges to relocate them somewhere else on the truck. I couldn't figure out where I wanted the new badges to go and started putting some thought into it and asking different opinions. Afterward, I got the idea to just debadge the truck. If you notice in the pic the "RAM 3500" is also gone on the door. When I get time, I plan to also debadge the tailgate and place one Cummins badge on the lower left hand side of it. Sometimes, IMHO, "Less" is "More".
