Are there really $8500 worth of salavageable parts on that thing?

Somebody must think so as they bid $8500.

That's what I thought happened when you put gas in a CTD.

Actually whomever wrote the "fine print" is pretty darn funny!

"Small cigarrette burn on the seat?!?"

At least whoever is trying to sell it has a great sense of humor!

I hope it was driver error that torched it...or arson...it would be a shame if it was DC's fault!

Nope! That happend from a cup of McDonalds coffee and an elderly lady.Poor thing spilt it in her lap and dropped her cig on the seat resulting in the burn in the seat,in turn the finger nail polish remover spilt pryor to the coffee caught fire and that is the end result!!

That's what I was thinking. I would guess that if you parted it out you could maybe sell $3000 of stuff.

Guess you have not priced junk yard parts lately. The rear is worth well over $2200. It has some expensive stuff in it. If I could have found a Dakota like that it would have been worth 3000 or 4000 to me. Chrysler does not sell a cab, that one is usable. The frame will be good. Some body work on the bed and it is usable. The transmission probably did not get melted. Most of the engine is in fine shape of the fire department did not use chemicals on it. It will also have a goosneck setup on it, it was a car hauler from Kentucky.

With that truck a totalled vehicle can by put back together. Be a fun job to clean up the cab, but it is done on a regular bases. I still have a 98 Dakota sitting that only had 15,000 on it but the frame and cab are trashed. Never could find a cab so it basically went to waste. Hard to find a totalled vehicle that has a good cab shell and frame.

Or someone wants it for the VIN#. Steal a identical truck and you have a washed vin. Happens more than you know.
