CST makes nice hard parts, especially spindles. So if you're worried about quality don't be. But hopefully someone else will make some soon, 'cause $850 is pretty steep.

 

The actual street price for the spindle kit is lower than most think.

So what is the going street price? I was interested but since it doesn't work with stock wheels, that means I have a much larger expense to stomach when doing this mod. Wheels plus lift isn't in my bank account.....

$835 street price. Not much better than the $850 MSRP. I wouldn't pay over $699 with new brake lines.

 

Not sure about rough country but 3" with shocks for $450 and you can use your stock wheels.

That Rough Country kit is a 1500 kit, not a 2500 kit....

The spindle on the Poly site is a 1/2 ton Ram 1500 spindle, not the new 3/4 ton spindle.

Regarding the price... if somebody wants a set (with brake hoses) for $699 that's easily accomplished. And I think MSRP is still at $899.95. A strange thing about CST... they always start out high with new products and then work their pricing down as the product gets older. That makes little sense to me but I've been dealing with CST for over a decade and that is how they operate. I guess the thinking is jump on the early adopters and then as the product falls out of the spotlight drop the price. For instance, the CST Chevy 2500HD 4" fabricated spindle has dropped literally 100's of $$$'s since it was first released.

The original link now takes you to a 6.5" lift using the spindles and coil spacers. They're saying that even a 315/70/17 would require trimming. That doesn't seem to add up to me. I would think that with 6.5" you would be able to fit something larger, especially with aftermarket wheels. What is the largest you could run with just the spindles? Is there a price set for the 6.5" kit? With the coil lift wouldn't you be required to use longer sway bar links? This should be the same for a 3500 SRW truck too, correct? Just thinking...

 

The 2wd trucks encounter the same problem as the 4wd trucks... as you reduce back space you increase the requirement for lift to clear the same size tire. For instance, on a stock height 4x4 Ram 2500 you can clear a 315/70/17 tire with zero lift on STOCK wheels. If you want to clear the same size tire on an aftermarket wheel with less back space you will need some sort of lift. The same is true of the 2wd trucks... as you reduce back space on the wheel you start to run out of room to clear a larger tire.

Right now I'd say with an aftermarket wheel that has 5.00" of back space a 35" Toyo is about as big as you can go without having to get creative with the cutoff wheel.

No. Spindle lifts don't require longer shocks.
