Wel here is the blind testing they done on diesel fuel additives... You find that most of the name brands failed the testing...

Funny...

Then why does centinel allow Cummins engine to run on WASTE ENGINE OIL and that's fine...

https://quickserve.cummins.com/info/.../centinel.html

But if we deside to replace it and use clean oil that is ASHLESS compared to ENGINE OIL... This is less harmful to the fuel system than pumping WEO...

If it is so good, then when are we going to see DC, Cummins or Bosch endorse it? If it adds to the life of the fuel system then I would at least expect Bosch to recommend it. That's all I'm getting at. I have had a couple of Cummins techs tell me that it's not a good idea to do this on the HPCR engines. That said, if it works for you then that's great and I don't blame you for doing it. I just want to hear it straight from the horses mouth, and when I do then I will use it even if it does kill my mpg. Until then, I'm sticking with what the Cummins techs have told me over what I read on the net.

Of course they're NOT going to endorse / recommend it. Anything that'll allow for parts and systems to last longer will take money out of their pockets for replacement labor and parts sales.

Wouldn't you think that SOMEONE would endorse it if there was a big problem with failing fuel systems? I'd bet a majority of the repairs would be under warranty anyhow and you can bet someone would like to take that financial burden off of themselves.

Also the centinel is not listed on the ISB engines? Why is that? All I'm saying is that if they are OK with it then why don't they come out and say it? Based on Fetuses theory, they are just shooting themselves in the foot by using the Centinel system anyway because it's robbing them of part sales.

One thing that I would also add is the fact that there have been thousands of people who have been running MMO, Stanadyne, Lucas and PS for years without pump failures and they are also claiming a quieter engine and increased MPG. I think there is a bit of a placebo effect with 90% of this stuff. I've tried almost everything that is the latest and greatest fad on my truck and NOTHING has worked as advertised.

I think you have to be careful with the testing charts also as there are others out there that may show disagreeing data. There was a big thread on stanadyne awhile back which had me switch to using 8ozMMO/8oz stanadyne. Engine was definitely quieter but no real increase in mpg.

here's the stanadyne test results for HFRR and lubricity and such. All I'm saying is take any data you see with a grain of salt. Be your own judge.

On my 5th tank of 2stroke now with about 600 miles of towing. No mpg gains but the motor sure is alot quieter.
Also seem to idle a little bit smoother. I have had NO adverse affects yet so I think I'm sticking with it. BTW I have mixing mine at about 1/2-3/4 oz per gallon. I think a full qt per tank might be just a bit too much IMO.

You're never going to see one of those companies recommend it for several reasons.

1. Those companies have probably never researched the benefits of 2-stroke oil in a diesel engine or its fuel system.

2. Even if they had, as soon as they establish an official party line recommending it, the EPA will swoop in like ninjas at a geisha party... it doesn't meet emissions and is not approved for use in anything other than small 2-stroke engines and outboards.

However, if you have a 5.9, it probably wouldn't hurt to give 2-stroke oil its day in court. If it works for you, fine. If not, fine. Use whatever you want.

I am currently running a clean tank of ULSD without additives so I can try the 2-stroke at the next fill-up and get non-corrupted results. If it works for me, great. If not, that's OK too. I'll just go back to using Stanadyne (who make diesel fuel systems and pumps, by the way) as it fared pretty well considering the test was on untreated ULSD.

Hrmm well... .... .... ... ..... ........... ....

Of course until someone endorses tcw3 it is all about he said she said opinion based stuff. And no matter how positive or negative your opinions are, they are certainly most appreciated here on this forum. I hope everyone takes a little grain of salt with everything they read here and may God bless you all with wisdom.

I am just going to say, some of will love it because we have a lack of fear of the unknown only to find out the unknown ended up being better than the known.

Others are sort of like .... "I wouldn't waste my time on Harry Potter Books, they are DEVIL worship" and you ask them "Have you ever even read the books?" . they reply.... "Well of course not".

A little true story of my over zealous southern bible-belt Aunt. I couldn't stop laughing when she told my sister that HPotter was devil worship LOL.

Anyways to not get off on a tangent. Try what works best for you. I have 30K miles on my truck and I have 50K more to go before my warranty is up and I start placing bombs on the engine. MMM Yummy Twins and BIG INTERCOOLER
