2-stroke oil power

sooo im wondering, does 2-stroke oil add to the cetane number of diesel? i just added a quart of diesel kleen (grey bottle) to 25 gallons of fuel in my truck and HOLY COW!!! i havnt used it in awhile and man does this stuff make a huge difference! quietier, WAY smoother and added 1.4mpg hand calced. but, its spendy compared to 2-stroke oil, hence my question. if i can get 2 out of 3(smoother and quietier) with tcw-3........thx for the replies

When driving my last Dodge, 2000 3500, adding two stroke, depending on how much you added, did make it run smoother and much quieter. That would be using 1oz/gallon. I ran 1/2 oz/gallon most of the time. Put 203,000 on it and never changed out the VP44. Lift Pumps (LP's) lasted 80,000 miles plus.

In the current truck, I run it at 1/2oz/gal and it does make a difference. Some say you don't need it for lubricity, but, there are parts in the fuel system that turn, and go round, can't hurt. Extra Lube always helps in my mind. Truck now has 82,000 on it. Changed the Crankshaft Position Sensor last October cause the guy who put the Exhaust Brake in it did not route the belt correctly and it ate into the CSPS. No other issues yet, knocking on wood.

Never noticed much increase in fuel mileage.

It does not add cetane.

the tcw3 from wal mart is the stuff I use. Any ashless 2 stroke will do but why spend extra cash if you don't have to?

Do a search their is a huge thread about this. In that thread apparently 2 stroke is hard on injectors. Or it may be in another forum, but still their is a ton of info on the subject from guys a lot smarter than me and after all that reading all I run is Diesel. Every few months before I change filters I do a heavy dose of Startron. Otherwise it's just Diesel.

ya, i think im gunnna stay with diesel kleen. if i put a quart in a tank,at 7.99, and it gives me 1mpg improvement, thats 35 more miles a tank. now, diesel at 4.17 a gallon, and im gettin18.25mpg right now with were im workin, im almost breakin even except im gettin a WAY smoother runnin engine and mabye some lube and cleaning of the fuel system. and if i can find it a little cheaper(im gettin it at autozone) that will make it even more worth while. later dudes!
