2" Leveling kit- Does it need alignment

Do you have to have an alignment done after installing 2" coil spring spacers? I know alot of manufacturers say to have it done but is it just to cover their...behind or does it really need to be done. Seems like not alot would change with just a spacer but I dont know.

I just did mine and had it checked out but it didn't really need any major adjustment. I just fine tuned it to make up for the change in hieght.

Was it pretty simple to do? I have some 2" hell bent steel spacers on the way.

It was VERY simple to install. Just a few bolts, a jackstand, a jack, and some elbow grease.

NO, you do NOT need an alignment with just a 2 inch spacer.....

The instructions you will receive with your HBS leveling kit will tell you to go get it aligned. Mine wasn't off by much, but I went ahead and had it done anyway. I think it was like $59.00 at the dealer. I had just installed the new BFG's the same day too so I wanted to make sure it was all true.

Although I have a 2wd, anytime you unbolt front end components like ball joints etc.. you should have it checked when done. I just installed a 1.5" lift last Friday, took it in Saturday and caster/camber was off by quite a bit.

Toe in and caster will both increase. I would be more concerned with the increased toe in and wouldn't worry much about the caster increase.

I put mine on within 500 miles of brand new, and the alignment was off and needed corrected. It drove fine and tracked straight, but was off considerably. Possibly from the factory....but I doubt it.

Doesn't have anything to do with IFS. Cummins is an engine not a vehicle, doesn't have caster.

ALWAYS align after a height change. Caster and toe in will change.

Mine drove straight after the 2 inch spacers but I had it checked anyway.

They found it to be out by a little bit.. The front end guy said it is not uncommon for it to be out from the factory. They have a jig they drive the truck onto and set the front ends.. the jig is only adjusted and recalibrated about every 50 trucks so it is not unusual for the alingment to be off from the factory.
