2 or 3 micron fuel filter for stock canister housing?
2 or 3 micron fuel filter for stock canister housing?
I'm curious if there is a replacement aftermarket fuel filter available for the stock filter canister housing. A drop in 2 or 3 micron filter? If I could replace the stock filter with something like this I would avoid installing an inline aftermarket filter system. This is for an early 04 model truck. My walbro lift pump connects into the existing stock filter housing.
Not one available. The only thing lesser than the Fleetguard 7 Micron is the Baldwin PF7977 5 Micron filter. Just get the filter kit from GDP on here that goes between the factory filter and CP3.
Actually AFE has a 3 micron drop in.

Never tried it though.
I have the GDP kit and it is a great product, however if you look around on this site there are a few members who have built an equivalent kit and posted part numbers and pictures of their install.

Either way, I'm sticking with the Baldwins.
And AFE should just stick with intakes and air filters! (For which I have always gotten detailed and accurate info for, from them). But as for oil and fuel filters they just don't seem to be that great at this point...
Maybe they just don't realize that their are those of us who actually read the fine print spec info....

Ditto for me. I asked if they had extensively tested their filter w/stock intank pump. Zilch. My friend's been using the Baldwins for 60,000 miles so that'll be my next purchase after the Fleetguards are gone. Why advertise something and then refuse to answer questions about it?
