Talking 155 RWHP gain on dyno with Eliminator!

Got my truck dynoed at Kaufman's spring fling with the SP Diesel crew and it topped out at 422hp/778ftlbs with just the SP Eliminator and Intake on my truck.

Go to http://www.spdiesel.com/dynos.htm for the dyno charts of stock versus modified. My truck is the 04.5 manual in the middle of the page.

They also dynoed another 04.5 which made real similar power, and a 555 motor with a beta box which made impressive numbers as well.

How is the power made? Pressure, timing, duration?

What were your EGTs for those runs? Thats a lot of power for a "stock" truck!

I have been looking into the Eliminator so this interests me

EGTs got up to about 1200-1250 on the dyno run. I'll let SP handle the question on how the power is made with the box, but I think it is a combination of all three

Our Eliminator Series for the 04.5+ produces its power through direct control over fuel pressure; indirect control of timing, and duration; and direct control over boost.

Indirect control over timing?

you mean by having more duration for the pilot you are effectively starting the main injection event later (because main timing is X number of crank degrees from the pilot event?

Just curious. I don't want you two to give away any of your secrets, but why don't you make a setting that is timing only that would give a little boost in power and a big boost to fuel economy?

We can do what you describe, that falls under the heading of custom tuning. There is a small upcharge for that.

To answer the questions, our methods dictate a slight retard of timing on the bottom to increase torque and an advance up top to keep the HP up.

How does the drivability compare to other mods that you've tried Hokie? Is it pretty snappy in the low end? High end? Or is it good throughout the whole spectrum? Also, what were your boost readings?

BCarmicle,

You may not like this answer, but as most manufactures would tell you we keep the maximum fuel pressure within the factory limits of the engine. Telling much more about exactly how we shape our fueling curve gets into some proprietary information.

With that said if you have a max fuel pressure that you would like your module set for, we are willing and able to custom tune that limit for you.

We'll be going to launch within 30 days. You can pretty much expect the flavors to follow the existing tunes for the 600. There will be an aggressive 'race' tune along with a plenty powerful tune for those that don't need outrageous power.

There will be more soon, but we aren't raising the curtain on any of those items just yet. They will not be competing in the same price region as the current eliminator. I won't say whether we're going up, down or both. You can expect the product line to inicrease though for the 555,600 and possibly even the gen2 stuff.

I was running the eliminator beta box in my 2003 and have been running it for almost a month no and i can tell you that I have had no driveability problems at all so far. on the lowest setting, i have actually increased my fuel mileage by 1.5 to 2mpg; but with all the extra power on hand, it's hard not to use it. The powe dial is very adjustable; and unfortunately so is my right foot!!! My numbers at the dyno were 376hp and 729tq at the rear heels with a totally stock truck with 35000 miles.
