my trucks stock and it hardly smokes ( level 1&2 have not gone higher yet, need a trans). The smarty is awsome! Just sw#1 was a huge difference in performance.

Depends on how he drives. Some reports a increase in fuel economy and others no change (like me). But the power delivery and smoothness is wonderful.
Not to mention the smoke on level 5!

He has been complaining that his engine seems to rattle more than normal, I told him that he should have bought a Duramax if he didn't wnat rattle! He drives normal, not a hotrodder, tows a little, drives everyday. He has complained about what a dog it is when he pulls out into traffic, he wants a little more bottom end, and from what I've read a Smarty does that well. Any comments? Thanks.

if he wants to lessen the rattle then he will need to download a software for aftermarket injectors

How many diesels has this guy owned or driven? Does he understand turbo lag?

This is his first diesel, and I explained to him what turbo lag is. I think some sort of chip will help his throttle response, I suggested the Smarty because of his warrenty.

"if he wants to lessen the rattle then he will need to download a software for aftermarket injectors"

^Through the Smarty?^
