06 2500 Hood Latch Problems
06 2500 Hood Latch Problems
I just found out there is recall on my hood latch. It was cutting into a/c cooler (do not know exact term for it). There was a large gash in the fins on the top and several other locations had bent fins where the hood was hitting. I took it in for that and two other recalls. When i picked up the truck. The paper work on the truck said REPLACED under a/c condensor repair. All they did was fix hood latch and then use a brush to straighten most of the fins and paint it black with paint again. If anyone has dealing with this please let me know. Should dealer have replaced entire condensor?
Hood Latch
Hey Texan, how did you find out about the recall? My 06 3500 has the same problem, but only the fins are bent a little at the top, no damage to the tubes. Combed them strait and they bent back the instant I closed the hood! What did they replace? Was it just the operating rod or the latch to fix the problem?
they had to replace the rod itself..there are also two other recalls that i found without them telling me..one is on top of gas tank deals with water getting in fuel.. the other is a.b.s.module..trucks back tires locking without reason..if you need exact titles for recall let me know..i have paper in office will get it to you tomorrow...

Post the numbers so we can all see them and for people searching the forums later
Thanks
