For 05+ owners that have upgraded their lift pump

Hey guys,

Just wondering for those of you that have done it, what milage/mod point did you upgrade your Lift Pump and what difference, if any did you notice.

I have the edge j/a with mp8 stack. I run level 5 with a little bit on the mp8 mode and the truck seems to run the best then, but, sometimes it feels like its lacking fuel.

100% stock fuel system so far and turbo, but, looking to upgrade.

Might be up for a better turbo, SMARTY (sell the edge) but I think first I need a new or a second LP.

Also, would the CP3 mods be recommended at this point? I read stock LPs running on low fuel pressure hammer the stock CP3. Figured if I get a Glacier systems LP setup PLUS a modded CP3 at this point, what/if anything would it do for me, assuming stock turbo and edge/mp8 i have now.

Thanks guys.

I say just upgrade to the hot juice and forget about the smarty. Then you will have the extra cash for the fuel system.

i agree with argo keep the juice and get the hot upgrade and go with a gdp 392 pump and bigline kit. when i installed my pump and line kit it helped on the top end cause the engine seemed to run a little easier and not seem like it was starving for fuel.

Very happy with my Smarty. Walbro going on this weekend. Looking forward to seeing how the truck feels with some REAL fuel pressure. Smarty on 9 takes mine down to almost zero at wot.

Hey guys.

The HOT juice sound amazing, but here is my problem:

I HATE the stock speed limiter and some other stock programing parameters.

I LOVE being able to turn power on/off on the fly with edge.

In reality I wish there was a programer that would just take out the speed limiter and some other stuff. Is there?

I don't think there is, so sell the edge and buy a smarty is my best bet so far I think.

DEF. fuel system mods before anything.

Eventually I want 500hp.

I am about in the same boat as you, here is what I have found out:

HOT juice will be NIIIICEEEEEE.

Speed limiter program can be defeated be removal of a fuse, or wiring in a switch.

HOT juice can still adjust on the fly and turn the power output to 0.

Glacier is the way to go with the fuel mod. I will be doing one this summer, if the money tree will get some nice April rain.

Speed limiter is still there with a Smarty so far. i believe its in the works. besides, i have a switch for that

what other stock programming parameters?

Adjustability on the fly is awesome. Smarty doesn't offer that, but that would really cool if it did considering the complexity of Marco's knowledge in each tune.

500hp? thats been accomplished with a hot juice....one guy even made 632hp!

How do I do dissable the speed limiter guys?

I was hoping that smarty would maybe remove some of the torque managmetn as well and perhaps let me bump the rev limiter just slighly. Need to do more reaserch on the smarty

oh yes it can modigy torque managment to a few different degrees.

wire in a switch into the ABS wire coming out of the fuse box....flip the switch and the ABS light and parking brake lights come on...the speedometer dies as well. However, you are now able to accelerate to the rev limiter. supposedly fastest GPS verified speed was 127mph
