Stacking agressive downloader which advances timing all the way with another uncontrolled timing advancer is stupid...I should know. Engines are easily had for $6000 to $8000 or you can tear off the head and start paying to get an abused engine back to a working used engine. If your pistons are ok...only way to know is to compression test but sometimes the top rings are cracked and that might not fully show...since it just hopefully happened. Might need to remove pistons to accurately check it out... Fun to do if you have a spare engine...not so fun if its your daily drive. ks
Yep this was one of the guys that got mine right. After more research that I have done a edge J/A only stacks well with a ez. I'd say melted pistons from too much timing thats what mine was doing when I melted 4 pistons the last time. Now motor is on way to machine shop.

I know im getting into this pretty late in the game as far as this goes but here is my take on it. As far as the Edge Juice/Attitude goes i asisted in the development of them for the Common Rail and they do have agressive timing and duration to make the power, especialy the "HOT" version. STAY AWAY FROM MORE TIMING! As far as stacking with a SMARTY I say go for it. My dually until this weekend was on 37 inch mudders and now has 40 inch ATs and I use the Smarty along with my Juice/Att. Untill about a month ago I had a stock injection pump and ran the Smarty on #8 (which has NO TIMING),but reflashed with the wildest "WILD TQ MANAGEMENT" program you could download for it. I would also turn my Edge up to level 5 and 5 plus hith the enter button twice to disable all saftey features and run the heck out of it with no problems. Now with a STAGE 3 from Industrial I run the Smarty on MODERATE TQ MANAGEMENT and on Levels #2 & #4. The injection pump make plenty of pressure and on higher settings on the Smarty im putting out the initial flame until higher RPMs. By the way my Juice/Attitude is a prototype "HOT" box which was not released to the public because of how agressive it is and its a 200 HP box. Now before it even gets brought up yes I have the other usual up grades too ( injectors, turbo, intake, exhaust, high arch intake, exhaust manifold, head studs, billet tranny, and so on). As far as running a SMARTY with your EDGE I say go for it. If you would like send me a message and I will let you know a few tuning tricks.

bigtx put your mods in your signature so you don't have to type them everytime you want to tell people about your mods. i am going to get a dr performance predator or another pressure box to go along with the ppe or the edge. i'll see which one works the best
