Wow

I would say that the front leveling kit was 125 ordered, shocks were 30 dollars each, so your looking at 185 for the level kit and shocks. Alignments are around 60 bucks here, so your looking at about 245 dollars for parts, and he's pocketing around 358..... I'd say he's taking his fair share. I did mine myself in the drive way and only took 2 hours, that's cause I was really taking my time also.

If you itemize it out, I suspect you'll see if they are or not.

2" leveling kit $100 ($69 on ebay)
2 Rancho 9000 (2x) $99 retail $198 total
4x4 alignment $79

That leaves $165 for installation and $60 in taxes (if your tax rate is 10%). Is that reasonable for your area?

brandon.

He quoted me these prices ,

Leveling kit - $209
Shocks - $169
Labor - $225

I imagine the price of the alignment is mixed in somewhere with the price of the shocks and leveling kit cuz right now it looks like he's trying to screw me if it isn't Or maybe he knows he is the best 4x4 shop in this area and thinks he can get away with charging ppl these prices ??? i know for a fact ppl in this area won't think twice about dropping that money but that is why i have you guys , to point me in the right direction

Truck

05CTD610,
Where at in Jersey are you?? I travel through there, here say there say. I'm only about 2 hours from the northern tip. The install really isn't that hard. you can buy a spring compresser, clamp it on your springs then jack the truck up. You can problably buy all the tools to do it safetly yourself, and then when your done, you know own all the tools. I've always been the type that will most likely pay more to do it myself, but to own the tools also, that way when your friend looks at you and says "you have a spring compressor too" you can say yeah, dosn't everybody (and I mean the nice hydrolic ones) Owning tools is problably the best investment anybody can make. I would also ask around, I bet you can get it done cheeper. It's not that hard to do. I know with the tuff country spacers, piece of cake walk through.

That quote is not far off. I just did my brother-in-laws truck.
Superlift coils: 250
Bilstien shocks: 150

figure 2 hours for install at 80/hour, thats the rate around here: 160
alignment: 80-100

the leveling kit is too much. the shocks are decent price. the labor is close but why not do it yourself and save $100+ in labor.

I would look for a used leveling kit on ebay. they are just spacers. there are new kit son there $85.

$85 leveling kit
$169 shocks
$80 alinment

be around $329

When I had mine done, they charged $100 to install springs and shocks(both superlift). Total was ~$450. One guy did it in an hour with a single floor jack. Two hours seems a bit much.

Forgot to add, that was with no alignment. ~$600 doesn't sound unreasonable.

Depends which leveling kit you are purchasing... without knowing the specific kit your price may be high or it may be fair. There's not enough information to provide a good answer.
