Lightbulb $1000 to spend on my '03 non HO 4wd Ram.....Hmmm?

Happy as a clam, Just found your site, WOW! Got my 2003 Ram with the Non- HO engine, it does have the 48re(?) -better trans - and am looking to give it more Umph! Have abt $1000 to spend, (actually, I don't but that's what I can borrow.....)and am thinking the Edge EZ and that TST CR with the gauges- deal. Are the two compatible? Should I also go for the Scotty Ram Air 3? Does that silencer ring give up any HP? It's my wife's daily driver, I've got a company Ford Taurtus. Barf. Any links would be appreciated, this Cummins Dodge is KING! (looking for a flat load floor and heated tow mirrors also, a little pricey on ebay now.....)

I'd wait(most are waiting) for the new Edge box. It'll have in cab adjustability and a few built in guages. should be priced low enough that you can still get an AFE intake to compliment.

Just curious, why the Edge over the TST? Just price considerations, or..?

$1000

I guess I'd like to use the easiest to install unit, the Edge EZ seems like it would be the one.....is the TST better? Different? How about the "Bomb It" quote? What's that?

I'm thinking the Edge EZ.

Aloha

I've read elsewhere on the forum that the Edge boxes add fuel by raising pressure and the TST adds fuel by increasing duration, and that the latter method is superior for some reason. Just repeating what I have read, can't vouch for the accuracy or correctness of the statement. I'd sure like to hear from someone who can though...

As of right now I know of no one who has got a TST box in their truck so it would be hard to talk to much about it. I have one on order and I should be fairly high up on the list. The boxes that are out now increase HP by increasing fuel rail pressure. The next generation of boxes (which TST and the new planned Edge box would be in) increase power by changing timing, also the width of the signal (pulse width) that controls the opening of the injector and amount of fuel injected. If you want instant gratification order a TST box and get the AFE intake filter system. If you plan on running around in high power mode expect to be upgrading your transmission, turbo and maybe even exhaust. Remember you gotta pay to play and if you got the power your gonna want to use it.

the reason I said the "new" Edge box is because with the attititude monitor it includes some gauges, at a cheaper price than installing separately, and much smaller package. In cab adjustability is another feature. not much harder to put in than an EZ
