Woowoo First CEL

I have joined the ranks of a CEL coming on. Only 750 miles on the truck haven't even made the first payment. Checked codes and it is the P2000 code. Two dealers around me can not get me in until next week sometime. You would hope that they would at the very least make room for their "real life testers". No wonder why Chrysler is going down the tubes. They should be paying us to test their crap. Mine is a 2008 built on November 07

I bought my 6.7 in May of last year and the CEL thing has been a constant companion. I just bought a scan tool yesterday at Wal*Mart (Innova 3100) for $98. There were no codes present but at least I was able to erase the light. I think all owners of 6.7's should have one because at least you can get rid of the CEL for a few days. Then, like Arnold Shwartzenneger, it'll "be back!"

well my truck is going in again tomorrow for the second check engine light in the last 6 days (P2000). First time they blamed it on the fuel and reset the light. They did not do the AM patch. Does anyone know if just the AW patch was pulled for the 2007.5 or was it both AW and AM patches pulled? I have a 2008 built in November so I am assumming it does not have AM. It ticks me off that they pull the bad fuel excuse out of there tail ends when it is obviously a problem. It just adds salt to the wound for us to spend this much money have problems with only 800 miles and then they lie to us. If they would just say sorry we know it is a problem and Chrysler is working on it we will call when we hear something more that would be much better. At least acknowledge the issue.

Cel On

My CEL came on last night with 2000 miles on the OD, air temp was -2F driving at 65MPH. Tried to check the code and none would show, tried the key trick. Over head display reads System OK. Will take to the dealer as soon as possible need to make an appointment to have the truck checked out. no Mods on the vehicle yet, will be putting in a boost, trans cooler and egt gages. Will be pulling a 5er at 10,000 lbs this summer.

I would guess your truck threw P0128 if it was that cold. Mine went when it was below zero driving to work. Dealer said the newest flash fixes this, and he's seeing basically every truck they've sold get this code in Colorado. I'll know more on Tuesday after I get mine fixed.

I would be interested to see just how many people are getting CEL's. Someone should make a poll. I would, but have no clue how to set one up. I have been fortunate enough to not have any CEL's yet. Maybe the bulbs burn't out?

Called the dealer at 7:00 AM CST, today 21 Jan 2008. Dealer stated they would get the truck in today at 8:30 AM, the ECM was reset per Dodges instructions and CEL is off. Service tech stated that this will come on when the engine is not warmed up enough and the engine is under load such as accelerating. Tec also suggested that I replace the speakers in the door there is a TSB out that owners have complaided about interference noise coming from them. My truck has had this from day one very intermitted. I was impressed with their customer service better than I had with my CHEVY.

My CEL came on at 1800 miles and again two weeks later. Both times the code was P2000. The dealer said the G30 recall was not done to my truck. I purchased early December, so I would suggest you make sure the G30 recall has been done which includes a flash of some sort among other things. The CEL the second time was due to the flash not taking according to the dealer. So far 1 week later no CEL. I am not sure which flash I got, but if it comes on again, I am demanding dealer call Chrysler to get latest flash whether it has been recalled or not.

Well mine went back in today because the light came on again. 3 times in 8 days. The first dealer I took it to are morons they blamed it on fuel. Took it to second dealer and they flashed it but 50 miles later light came on again. Second dealer is honest and admitts to getting alot of trucks back for the CEL. Not sure what they are going to do now about it. Will keep you guys posted.

I have become accustom to the CEL being on. At 8000miles my truck is at the dealer for its second turbo in 2 weeks. It started bucking and sounded like an intake backfire and bam, CEL on. Replaced the "turbo actuator" the first time, and now it’s in for the entire turbo replacement right now.

The first time I had it in, I had them flash for the new tire size. The advisor charged me $45 for the flash.... the truck has been at the dealer for a total of 3 weeks since I bought it, so I told them they would receive a bill from me for the 3 weeks of truck payments since I did not have it for this time. They promptly comp'd the $45.

It’s been a pain, but what can I say, I love the truck and I would never drive anything else ... As long as they keep fixing stuff under warranty and coming out with TSB's to fix the problems I am happy.

To add insult to injury, they called me and told me I had a 4 inch deck screw in the sidewall of one of my brand new BFG’s…. They took it to the local shop and had it replaced free of charge. I didn’t even get the tires from the dealer, but they fixed it for me!

Sounds like a good dealer to me. I'm sure you're happy about that. Hopefully the fixes will keep coming from up top...

My C E L has been on more than my head lights. I have been to dealer 7 times in two weeks. today I was told that the turbo was sooted up and had to be cleaned. this truck has 4500 miles on it and is wearing my patiants. Ther has been the E C M and a theremal coupler and different flashes and a exaust gas sensor just to name a few things. Someone at dodge needs to get a grip.

If you have a P2000, you can fix it by cleaning the tips of the oxygen sensors off with some compressed air.

When the dealer tells you, "the flash didn't take", you should run away fast and find another dealer.

It is just a joke to have to do that to a new vehicle under warantee let alone when it runs out for stuff like this.
