i went and drove an 07 6.7 today

the three things that impressed me most was

1 the transmission with the feature to manually change the gears
2 the exaust brake i couldnt stop playing with it
3 how quiet the engine was

the only thing i was not real impressed with was the power

it did not seem a lot stronger than my 03 but again it was new and not broken in yet so it would proberly improve

went and drove the ford 6.4 last week and the dodge is a whole lot more fun to drive

with the ford you had to keep mashing the go pedel to get it to go

the power did not come on at part throttle like the dodge did

i realize now what is meant by the low end torque of the cummins vs the ford

i know they changed something about the oil pan to make these things quiet
does that much noise come out of the oil pan on the older ones

i wish i could make my 03 as quiet as this one was

at least you could see the block and top of engine

on the ford i never seen the engine just hoses and wires

maybe that is why the ford is quiet the noise is shielded by all the hoses and wires on the engine

it was hard to leave that truck there but we just bought a real estate company and would have a hard time explaining the new purchase to the wife

maybe if i tell her its a tax deduction
