When filling up with diesel..

Are ya'll able to top off in short order, or does the last 5 gallons or so foam up and you have to force the fuel in the filler neck?

I top it off I think but I have added several gallons a few times before it was in the neck, I think it just depends on where you get your fuel. When I was farming I ran farm fuel and it foamed really bad and took about 10 more gallons after it clicked off. NOTE when I ran farm fuel my truck was only being run on the farm and not on public roads, which makes legal to be run, if I was going to town I took the gas truck instead since my rig was illegal to run on public roads.

Mine foams and takes a while to get it in the neck and have it stay there... Once I see it in the neck it usually will settle back into the tank if I wait a second. I need to do the tank mod so I can fit more in there and quicker - but I have never dropped a tank before, so I am a little leery of doing it on a brand new truck...

Dropping the tank is easier than you think. Disconnect the fuel lines, the two EPDM hoses, loosen the nuts holding the tank straps up and you've dropped the tank.

Easy as pie.

The kit and instructions from diesel max are top notch: http://www.diesel-max.com/store-cate...s_2429930.html

Apparently Dodge fixed the tank for the 6.7L's. My Dad and Nephew hasn't mentioned any foaming issues with their new trucks.

After the foam starts to come up the neck, I slow down the pump and can usually get 3-5 more gallons.

I do that too, but then it takes 10 more minutes.... Thanks for the link Arkapig, maybe I will have to bite the bullet on this one before winter hits...

I am on the prowl for my next truck (moving away from gas), and test drove the 2500 SWB w/6.7l yesterday. It compared very well to the duramax (Dodge's price is easier on my eyes at this point). Main question-my friend is a manager of a biodiesel plant, and gives me a good deal on fuel (my main reason for considering the extra money for the diesel engine). Does anybody burn biodiesel/have comments on CTD's response to B50??? What can I really expect for mileage w/o towing or heavy loads from a stock engine? Mahalo & Happy trails...

B50?????? Ya need to do a little more mods to make that work.
A stock 6.7 can handle b5 when its ready and with a filter change it can handle b20. But dont do anything if you dont wanna void your warrenty!! We should be seeing b5 more often coming soon to the pump

If you buy a dodge dont let the dealer find out your using B50.. DC has only approved biodiesel up to B20 for use in there trucks. I would be changing the fuel filter a lot more often if I was to try it.. Also did anyone see that dieselpower article earlier this year.. where they did the all around rig comp??
I noticed the 2 chevy guys in the article were in the bed of there truck shaking it from side to side.. like sloshing the tank while fueling. Is this just a chevy thing or has anyone tried it? I would but Im still on crutches and I wanna know if it works. Ill have the mrs up there in a heartbeat.. lol

After the 1st click, I can squeeze a 1/2 gallon at the most in. I think they fixed it.
