Wasn't sure. Haven't followed manual trannies for awhile. How are the G56's as far as holding power with a aftermarket clutch?

Good but dual mass flywheel is the biggest piece of crap ever made.

I've talked to quite a few people who own trucks with the G56 trans. Every person I've talked to about the trans say that they like it. Personally, I don't like where reverse is located on the shift pattern. I do know that the G56 shifts alot better than the NV5600, though.

I was told by a gentleman that works for Daimler Chrysler tranmission plant in Kokomo that the G56 transmission was made by Delphi. I really don't like the way it shifts.

The G-56 is the nicest shifting manual tranny I've ever had in a pickup. I have driven my buddies '05 NV5600, and IMO the G-56 is much smoother.

My only complaint is the low OD ratio.

I have to agree! Nice and tight, similar to a good German automobile's transmission. It'll be in my replacement for old 96...someday...

The G56 shifted really good in the 6.7. It wasn't notchy at all.

KMK is right IMO about the dual mass FW. That being said, it is also the best shifting manual truck I have ever driven. Guess when clutch takes a dump I will get a Southbend.
