My brother is wondering what would work better for towing his 43 foot goosenck trailer. It's a tri axle and has a pin weight of 2500 pounds, empty it weighs 9000, loaded it weighs 17000-18000. What do you think?

 

4500 or 5500 6speed hand shaker!

 

6 speed auto.3500 or 4500 4.10 gear.

I would sure consider a manual tranny. I still want to be in control of the shift points, not the computor.

 

do yourself a favor and drive an auto. I bet that 90% of these guys that say get a manual have not driven a new 6spd auto yet. I refused to buy a cummins before the 6.7s simply because i thought that the old tranny behind the 5.9s was worthless. So the new 6sp changed my mind. Just something to think about
