what is a fooler box???
Fleece Performance has released a boost fooler/controller for the 6.7L. I have also read that Quadzilla has figured out how to get their boost fooler for the 5.9L to work with the 6.7L.
As to the original question, the "fooler box" in question is typically the EGT sensor fooler's that are plugged into the factory EGT harnesses on the exhaust of a 6.7L when the DPF is deleted.
The older style H&S and BADP gen 1 DPF deletes came with an electronic box that was taped or zip tied to the inner frame rail and had three harnesses that came out, one harness going to each of the 3 EGT probes in the exhaust. The harnesses would plug inline between the EGT sensor and the EGT harness that reports back to the ECM. It would then fool the ECM by sending a signal back reporting that the exhaust temperature was roughly 1080 degrees, optimal temperature for a passive regen, which in turn convinces the ECM that there is no reason to perform an active regen. The "fooler box" is simply the box and 3 harnesses that plug into the EGT sensors.
The modern H&S and BADP Gen 1 kits no longer include a fooler box. Instead they simply consist of three little plugs that plug into the EGT harnesses that go back to the ECM. The 3 EGT sensors are now removed with the DPF and not retained on the vehicle. These 3 little plugs perform the same function as the older style fooler boxes, just take up less space and allow the owner to remove their EGT sensors with their factory exhaust so they do not risk getting damaged while the vehicle is being used "for off road use only."
