The turbo can be cleaned but if they do holset will not honor the warranty. A sensor was dirty and he decided you need rebuilt turbo??,sounds like a crock

If you haven't, register at the Cummins site, they'll send you emails with updates and such.

I just got an email recently...It said to run the Exhaust Brake at least 70% of the time loaded and unloaded.

I attended a Cummins customer appreciation day last week at my local dealer. The guy there said there was another update out just last week. The dealer did not have it yet because it was too new. The rep said there is a new "cleaning port" they are adding to the turbo. Not sure how and the rep did not seem to know either.

I figure I will wait until they do a few more before I have them work on my truck.

Will the warranty on our turbo's and emmisions systems expire at the 3yr/36,000 miles or the 100,000 mile engine warranty? I have not had these troubles and get the latest updates when they are out.

100k on turbo. Emissions, I'd guess it'd follow state law, ie. California 7/70, at least on Gassers.

If I remember right, from the manual, the emissions warranty is only for about 65k miles. After that it's on your dime. One free EGR cleaning when ya hit that mileage, you'll get a service reminder on the overhead. DPF is supposed to have a 120k mile lifespan.
