Question Dirty Turbo

I just got done changing my oil, and every time I do that I take the intake tube off that goes from the air box to the turbo because its the easiest (and cleanest) way for me to get the oil filter off...it also lets me inspect the turbo a bit. The past few times I've noticed that the intake of the turbocharger is dirty...it looks kinda like oil, but the closer I look, it looks almost like a carbon deposit of some sort...should I be worried about anything here?

Thanks!

Do you have a paper air filter or an oiled fabric? Too much oil on the filter will cause the turbo to get dirty.

maybe the seals are going bad in the turbo. I'd take more apart in the intake system and look for more oily film on the inside of the intake tubes

Most likely it is excess oil being pulled off your filter. Mine always has some on the turbo impellers and a drop laying on the machined lip of the turbo. I doubt it is your turbo seals leaking.

Yeah I did some "exploratory surgery" and its just the excess oil from the filter so no worries!
