truck will not run
truck will not run
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was driving down the road and my truck just quit. I got it towed home and started looking at it. It had a code of P1011. I had fuel going to the CP3 but nothing coming out. So I took it to the dealer they told me I had bad fuel and the warranty would not cover it, they suggested I do an insurance claim. My Insurance company went to the dealer and got a fuel sample. They had it tested and it came back good. The insurance denied the claim and said it should be covered under warranty. I went through an appeals process with DC, but with no luck. dealer said it would be $18000.00 to fix it. Needless to say I had it towed back home. I put a new CP3 on it. It now has fuel coming out of the CP3 and the P1011 went away, But then threw a P0341. So I replaced the Cam Position sensor, that code went away. The truck still will not start. HELP!!!!!!

First thing I was always told to do in fuel problem situation is to change the filter. You might also crack and injector line to make sure you are getting fuel to there. As the above said.
I have replaced the fuel filter. I have also cracked an injector line and I am getting fuel there. Do you think I may have gotrten a bad CP3?? i orderd a rail pressure gauge, it should be in today.
Not being a smart **** but, did you change the crankshaft sensor by mistake and not the camshaft sensor. The reason I ask is from personal experience they are the same sensor. I did that myself.

I am positive it was the cam shaft sensor. I have big hands and had to pull the CP3 to get to the sensor. I think the crank sensor is below the pump, and I could have gotten to it pretty easy.
First thing I would do is document what has been done for my lawsuit that I would light them up with.
Next I would find a known GOOD Chrysler dealer to take it to for a real diagnosis. I cannot say what fuel rail pressure it takes to fire a CR, but I would suspect that 5-6K should fire it off if the ECM is instructing the Injectors to fire.
I would find a Dealer who KNOWS these things, and even if I had to take it to another state, would get it fixed correctly.
Then I would sue the bejesus out of not only the original dealer, but Chrysler as well.
Does anyone know of a GOOD Chrysler diesel dealership to point this poor fellow to?

I contacted an attorney this morning. He is reviewing my case now. I was informed of a "rapid response 09-050" it has to do with a vent line on the cab and chassis that may let dirt into the 52 gallon fuel tank. I wil post again when I know more. Thanks for all the help.
Take it to a real dealer and have them scan it while it is being cranked to have them see what is happening. You have plenty of fuel pressure from what you are reporting.
BTW was it running normally prior to shutting down? A failed CP3 could have shed debris and that could have contaminated the injectors.
