Exclamation Transfer Case Leak

I have a 2008 Ram 2500 with a 6.7 auto. My tranfer case started leaking out of the rear output shaft. Replaced the seal and the leak stoped for a while then started again. This problem seamed to start soon after a failure of one of the rear u-joints. I've checked the bent hose and it's good. Not sure what to do next.

Help!

How did the sealing surface of the yoke look? If the old seal wore a groove, that could be the source of the leak. I have heard that there is a sleeve kit available that will fix it w/o replacing the yoke.

Chicago Rawhide makes a number of repair sleeves...They install easily with a mallet......Ben

It seemed smooth but I'm more than willing to install a sleeve. How do I figure out the part number I need?

If they can look up the yoke, that'll tell them what the OD is. From there get the right sleeve for it. If they can't, bring the old one in, and they can use a caliper to get the OD. 2nd one would be better, cause they can check the entire thing to see if it's a uniform thickness.

Speedy sleeves are expensive, and they require a larger ID'd seal. May be cheaper to replace the entire yoke.

Look at yoke carefully. Is it leaking at seal or from behind? there is a plug in back of yoke or in front of U joint that can leak. Install a new core plug with sealer to resolve.
The bad joiont may have damaged the yoke bushing in extension causing excess slop and a leak also. Bushing is servicable.
