Some very encouraging TDR members by the name of JACummins2500 and TKeeler enlightened me to the fact that if your selling dealer will supply you with the rail car number (from a progress report they run) you can track the rail shipment of your ordered truck here :

My truck left out around 09:39 05/18/07 from Laredo, TX to Centreville, IL......estimated to be in IL 21:06 05/20/07 .
As stated by others, it is like being a kid at Christmas all over again.

Called the dealer again this morning. Loaded last Monday on train in St Louis, and not expected to arrive in Spencer Mass until July 10th at the earliest,... This train must stop at every business siding along the way, adding and subtracting cars as they go,, 28 days for 1500 miles.
Not to be a wise guy but mine was slated for 5/29 and I went to the dealer last wed to ask where it was and they showed me it was off loaded from the ship in newark on wed morning. We were discussing how it was stupid for them to put it on a rail car to just bring it back down to about 75 miles for the port. Well thrus morning, not 30 minutes after I headed out of town I get a call that my truck showed up on a truck from the port, they said that they called someone and "red taged" it and the must have listined. Anyway I turned arround went and say the truck, drove it and will pick it up tomorrow.

Just called customer care..
It's now KZM (First Rail Car)
I then asked if rail info can be found.
The lady assisting me gave me the following info:
Rail Car 137
Veracruz
She did not know what this meant.
I researched a bit and I'm cornfused....
Veracruz is a Port on the Gulf.
So I guess the beast will have a trip further south than Cancun.
then possibly boated to the east coast...
If anyone has info, please let me know...
Thanks
Keith

called Union Pacific this afternoon, Now last week Chrysler said loaded in St Louis last Monday. Today UP said Salinas Sl, then Laredo Tx.. So, was the truck made in MO shipped west first or Mexico and just crossed the border, I think the first girl in Chrysler "thought" St louis from a code and I believe she was wrong,, Still, 28 days estimate to arrive at Spencer MA,, Long wait for sure,,
congradulations rescue
Ordered mine about the same time, MAr 20th or so,, for some reason the truck is way behind.. According to checking late today, in Laredo Tx. I ordered the same thing. 3500QC w/ 68rfe,,, to replace an 06 5.9 with 48rfe, 2500 QC.

Just thought I'd chime in. My wife bought me my truck as a Christmas present, the first one she and the dealer found in Virginia, an 06, had been sold the day before, imagine that! The next day I believe 12/06/06 they found the truck she bought me still on the line or just coming off in Fenton Mo.. She told the dealer at this point, the sales manager and I believe the owner of the dealership was now involved that she needed the truck for a Christmas present, they said but that Chrysler won't ship till they have a "full rail" what ever that means, but they'd try. Long story shortened after involving the NE area DC manager and calling they dealership almost every day (i think thats called harassing them) it arrived in a NY terminal on a half-full rail, Friday afternoon 12/22/06 some poor driver trying to pickup a paycheck was shanghied into transporting it to the dealer in SE CTthat night, and it was presented to me the next morning as a total surprise. I was amazed at the tale she told about getting the truck and the time frame involved but it appearently can be done, perhaps harrasment works, she said blonde hair, blue eyes and good looks
had anything to do with it...never works for me.

I ordered mine on 3-7-07 and it took about 6 weeks. But I live near San Antonio so it was on the rail for about 2 days but sat in the storage yard in San Antonio for 5-6 days before they delivered it to the dealer. I was lucky to get the truck so quickly as other have been waiting since December and January.
Called Customer Care again today.
I figured I'd get a bit more info about the shipping route.
TTGX820137.
I tracked on Union Pacific and its just North of Mexico City. (The Red Star)
Seems that my truck will be take a cruise to Maryland.......
Hard to believe that it started in Saltillo....
Heading to the Port of Veracruz is North west of Villahermosa.
