Someone just tried to steal my truck

Just warning everyone to watch their ride, they tried to steal mine in a parking lot in Houston about 4 hrs ago, pried on the door latch and stuck something in the key insert. SOBs are going to cost me half a grand probably. I dont think they got in....not that it would have mattered....my ravelco plug was in my pocket. I called HPD and they said they would call me for the report, and they do not send out a car.....go figure. Least I had a ride to drive home I guess (on the bright side?). Would have sucked to have to go file a stolen report on all my fire fighting gear.

I use The Club on the steering wheel. That, plus the fact it's a stick shift may act as a deterrent to theft, although I realize if a thief wants your truck badly enough he'll find a way to take it. Glad your ride wasn't taken. Sorry about the damage, though...

I live south of Houston, and the ravelco was $250 if I remeber right. I am glad I still have her, ever since a couple of items fell off her I have not had one problem. Im knockin on my table right now.... If your interested in the plug I can try and drum up a reciept or you might just try a google search. I got mine put in a week after I bought it in 07.

I'd be devistated if someone stole my 01. It's paid for, set up just the way I want it, and in great condition. I would be out quite a bit of $$$ if it disappeared even after the insurance pay off. Glad you were able to retain your ride.

Glad you still got your truck, but sorry about that hassle you have to go through for the repairs.

I'd be if my truck was stolen. I've had people get into my old truck before and I caught them in the act. I chase. At this point it's about getting the cops on the line to hold that thug accountable for his crime. I want him caught NOW. Usually these guys are part of a larger crime ring so if you can get the heat on one guy, you can blow open an operation working in the area. The sooner you do that, the greater the chance of reducing crime in your area (especially if its smaller community).

I find it backwards that its a crime to rig a booby trap security system that harms perpetrators

In my driveway she is safe, with a locked gate and a few dogs backed up by my trusty 45.....I googled the ravelco on a whim and sheeesshh price has gone way up its like $500 dollars now. I wish we were allowed to booby trap our rides for would be thiefs.....Id do it and put X's on my fender for thiefs eliminated.
