smarty jr/deletes

Reading the directions for the jr. it says to do the deletes you need to unhook the egr motor?. My question is, do you have to do anything with the egr or can you just get rid of the dpf? I need to be able to put it back together in the event of a major failure. In fact if I take it to the dealer with the egr all unhooked and hanging they will throw a fit. I can take it in with the dpf removed, as long as there is not a major problem.

Just and FYI, the S67 is detectable, not sure if your dealer is concerned with the ecm being programmed.

You could just remove the servo motor, pull the plunger, and replace the servo motor. If you have to go in for service, replace the plunger.

heck i dont think i would bother even replacing the plunger back in if he is putting the smarty in. just because the warranty is no longer valid.

Sounds like you just need to do like Blake says with the EGR, that is how I have mine. 5 minutes and you're back to stock here.

I just found this thread, so you took the plunger out, and replaced the servo, and plugged the other end, (with the freezeplug) an put the egr crossover pipe back on, so you don't have the blockoff plate on the part where your servo bolts to??

No, if you just pull the plunger you can replace the servo as is and it looks 100% stock.

^^^ Like Blake said.

You don't need any plates with this method, not even the freeze plug really which is just some overkill and insurance to keep the soot in the exhaust where it is supposed to be.

By the way, F Y EPA!

Thats what I will do, do the plunger and unplug the cooler, and replace the DPF, and put the smartyME on.
I did the Home Depot airbox mod already.
