Small lift big problem

I have a 2007 Mega Cab 2500 with the new 6.7 diesel. I installed a 4" superlift kit with Bilstien shocks all around to accept the 315/70R17 MTZ's from Mickey Thomson. Rough sections of highway will cause the truck to shake violently. In some cases the truck will continue to shake after the rough road has ended. I am using 45psi in my tires and have put them up to the maximum recommended as well, it doesn't seem to make a difference. Has anyone experianced this? Have any suggestions on what to try?

Bummer. I suggest staying off those rough roads though. Sounds like a real old 4X4 before steering stabilizers. Good luck.

Have you aligned it since the lift?

Just curious, did the kit come with a drop pitman arm. A lift without it would change the geomotry of the steering. Also check your steering stabilizer, looks like a shock but sideways.

The lift did come with a drop pitman arm and i can't see the steering stablizer being worn out because there is only 12000km's on it. I've heard of death wobble but I always thought it was caused by worn out front end parts. Thanks for the info.

Not only worn, but inadequate from the start.

If your kit has a track bar drop bracket make sure you weld it no matter what the instructions say. A couple 1/2" beads will do.

If your kit reuses the factory track bar I'd replace it. I recommend this one.

When your steering stabilizer goes replace it with something better. I think this one is the best value.

Finally, be sure your truck is aligned, and what has helped many is setting castor high, like around 4*.

Good luck!
