should I trade up

I have an offer to trade in my 6000 mile 06 slt for a new 07 6.7 auto Laramie with an out of pocket donation of around 5k.
Would I regret doing this? I realize the Laramie is going to be nice to have but I wonder if ill miss the 5.9 manual.

Thanks, Mooseman

I agree with PSD. That comes out to just under a dollar per mile for its use. Thats a little steep if you ask me.

Don't Do It I think you'll regret going with the 6.7. Just remember it comes with all that new environmental junk on there, just more headaches!!

I am trading in my 6.7 for another hand shaker cummins. Look at my sig and i bet we could trade for alot less than 5000$ if not straight across. Mine has just over 6000 miles on it and is in mint cond with some nice goodies on it.

Based on what people here are reporting on the new engine/exhaust, you would have to be drunk to consider the proposal.

The dealer would make a lot of money on you and you'd be stuck with a electronic and emissions nightmare apparently.

New is not always better.

If you NEED a new truck then by all means consider it, but for a virtual straight trade since the pre-6.7L are all going up in value due to the non-emissions.

Yes I would stay where your at. The dealer is licking his chops to get your 5.9 6 speed. Around here they are no where to be found. I had to get rid of my 06 piece of crap 48re but i got a 6 speed this time. I looked for a 5.9 but there was none around. I really like the exhaust brake and the new turbo but it needs to be uncorked bad.

I am not going to get into the 5.9 vs. 6.7 debate but $5k to trade up to an 07' Laramie is really a pretty good deal. First your going from a SLT to a Laramie, that's $3k to $4k depending on how the SLT is equiped, then the 6.7 is another $1450 higher than the 5.9 was, so really, they are giving you about what you paid for your 06' if they are only wanting to trade for $5g's. And I know everybody here thinks the dealer will make a killing on his used one but trust me, no one is going to pay new price for a used truck, especially if it's had a chip on it.

As long as when you wake up in the morning you don't to make a decision between chewing your arm off or waking the beast your in bed with.
