See dealer now
Please bear with me guys. I just bought a 2008 ram 2500 with a 6.7 in February. the previous owner had deleted the DPF but left the EGR. I love the truck. it's got plenty of room and lots of power for what I need. A few days ago the overhead display started flashing PERFORM SERVICE, SEE DEALER NOW. From everything I've read so far on here there are only a few things it could be. I initially tried resetting it with the brake pedal and gas pedal trick but after 10+ times it doesn't work. next I replaced the CCV filter. That didn't do anything even after I did the reset too. From what I'm reading now it sounds like maybe the EGR or cooler is dirty and needs to be cleaned? I do want to eliminate the EGR a d components completely but I believe I will need to a programmer because it will give codes? This thing is annoying as hell with it beeping every 10 minutes, yes I've timed it. My last diesel was a 1992 5.9 with a VE pump. I don't do technology very well which is why I'm rebuilding a 1982 D350 with a carburetor and 5 speed but that's a story for another time. Any help would be appreciated guys
If you're somewhere around 67,500 miles or a multiple there of then yes it could be the egr/ccv service interval.
BUT if you've done the correct pedal dance multiple times and you still have the message then I don't think that's what it is.
Does the message come in under heavy throttle?
If so then it could be a low fuel pressure issue.
Does the message come on and ding shortly after starting and give you a ding every 15-20 minutes/miles?
If so then what you need to do is reload the tune onto the ecm to reset the regen timers.
I say reload the tune because you already have one loaded that has disabled the dpf and egr systems.
(everything is disabled and he only removed the dpf and nac canisters)
Problem is you don't have the tuner to reload the tune so if this is the case then you'll either be driven crazy with the dings or be looking for a tuner to load and reset everything.

I got it to reset last week after doing the brake pedal/gas pedal reset several times in a row and thought I was good until it came on again while driving to work. I wasn't pulling a load or heading up and down mountain . The road is fairly flat and I was just cruising at 70mph. I've got 156,000 on the truck. Ive retried clearing it again when I got to work with no success. this thing is annoying
