Saw a SRW cab & chassis today

Decided to stop by the Dodge dealer while I was out enjoying the 90F weather today. They have a C&C with SLT trim, auto and SRW. I have been curious if the DRW and SRW C&C trucks had different rear suspension. Well they definately do. The SRW has leaf springs made of thinner metal and there are fewer leafs. I guess that explains the 2000 lb diffference in GVWR. I looked at the axles closely and they look identical. So I guess the same 11.5 inch gear is in the rear.

I was hoping they had the new 6.7 L 2500/3500 but no luck. Plenty of 5.9L still available.

The tires are probably the limiting factor for the rear axle. Most 10 ply tires are good for 3000 to 3100 lbs each. The dual rears raise the limit to the axles/frames limit.

It is in San Luis Obispo CA, truck is still there. It is a quadcab 2wd SLT. It has a nice service body on it. Sorry I didn't look at the price since I want a 4x4 with a flatbed.

I'm likin' the idea of a SRW if I decide to get one. Does anyone know if you can get a CC without clearance lights? I'm not a big fan of 'em but I could live with them I guess.

I think you're out of luck. They come standard on all C&C trucks. Whether it's a law or not I can't be certain.

They are standard on all 3500's DRW or SRW going by a buyers guide that I have, did not give anything on a 2500 in it.
