Regen

Regen
Still have a stock engine on my 2007 6.7 2500. My engine only went into REGEN once in the entire time that I've owned it. I don't tow and I don't carry heavy things. Should I be worried?

You're probably thinking that you're only in regen when the overhead message says the DPF is 60% full or more. In reality it goes into an active regen when the ecm calculates it is approximately 55% full and the message comes in to tell you that you need to take it for a drive to allow it to regen properly.
Your truck will be in a passive recent anytime the DPF inlet temperature is over 500 deg F.
So in a nutshell, I wouldn't worry. Just make sure you take it out for a 20 mile or so drive if the overhead message comes in again.

I would bet that the Regen process was done about every 180 miles or so on your truck. When towing this could be higher or lower in mileage depending on the conditions of the road surface and if you where in the mountains.
Unless you had gauges you will never know you where in Regen. This process is suppose to be seamless to the end user.
