Question on idling???
I have read on here that letting my truck idle for long periods of time is bad with the emissions bull.
When I go to the ranch the road to get there is really bad you basically idle the truck for 15 miles to get there and then idle the truck around the whole ranch for hours. Is this the same as just letting the truck sit idling? Or because it is actually moving make it ok??

The recent flash to the ECM has a new 900 rpm soot reduction idle routine that should help take care of it. The way I figure, you have to use the truck for what you bought it for. I had to do some mountain road last week to go fishing with about 5 miles of bad road. Pulled it down into 1st and just kept the revs up in T/H. Don't know that helped at all.

I've been told with the new updates idling is a non issue. I tend to believe that as I have two 6.7 trucks with the local fire department and the idle time on those rigs record is phenominal.

The longest ive let my truck idle was about an hour. I was catching a nap at a rest stop and had to run the A/C as it's over 90 here even late at night in the summer. There was no problem
