Oil Filters Prefered Brand?
Oil Filters Prefered Brand?
I was doing some research on oil filters and am looking to find out which ones are the best for my 08 Cummins. Are the Mopar the same as the Fleetgard filters? I assume those two brands should be about the best because the engine manufacturer makes them? Thanks for any help.
Fleetguard stratopore for my truck. Baldwins are highly regarded on this forum by many members as well. Not sure if mopars and fleetguards are manufactured the same, but the mopars are usually more expensive than the fleetguard, napa or baldwins. General consensus is just don't use fram and you will be ok.
I use Amsoil oil and filters. I change the oil and filters every 12,000 miles. Amsoil recommends longer intervals, but I think 12,000 miles is enough for me. I used to have the oil tested when the truck was under warranty, the results always can back good with plenty of life left in the oil.
From what I have read and researched, the Fleetguard filter made with the stratpore material is the best for our trucks. The stratpore material provides superior filtration over all other types of filtration media being used by other manufactures. The stratpore medium can be used to filter either Dino oil or synthetic oil.
