NO parts for my warranty work!

So I got an appointment for my truck at a new dealer because of Chrysler dealer shut downs. Waited over a week to get them to look at my truck. Needs the EGR replaced and some sensor. I already had my EGR cleaned once and replaced once at my old service dept.

I'm told that they have no parts in stock for diesels and that because of Chrysler's bankruptcy deal they don't know when the vendors will release any parts! Was told to just drive the truck and they will call me when they can get parts. I'm really like the glow of the CEL on a hot summer night.

You can get you one of those Terry Bradshaw Check Engine sunburns. Did you ever see his transmission shop commercials?

That's good stuff.....So no other dealer in the country has one that they can buy directly from? Funny commercial too.

With 784 dealerships put out of biz, there should be plenty of parts out there.

Breaking a Federal law by altering the emission system is not an option for me.

They have instructed you to drive around in a truck that does not meet Emmission standards.... Hmm interesting.

Wow, that statement sounds pretty righteous or paranoid. You work for the feds or something? Or maybe you can't afford another strike or something?

I'm sure you have a good reason, please share.

if you keep all of that junk on your truck, and feed it soot for 100,000 miles, you won't need to worry about removing anything. you'll have fouled up the motor for so long you can just get your next truck.

This parts problem isnt only with Chrysler, I have a bodyshop friend that ordered a headliner for a 07 tahoe GM said there supplyer for ther headliners for a bunch of modles went bankrupt and they dont when they will be able to get one. This is just the tip of the iceberg The days of getting parts the same day are over.

By driving your truck around while the system is not working properly your warrenty can be voided. You as the owner are fully responsible to ensure your truck is operated with in guidlines.
Be carefull, get it in writting from Chrysler Corporate if they want you to continue driving your truck.

It's because I work for the EPA dude..

I really don't need to worry now because after driving this truck around for a few days now the CEL just went off by itself. Guess I have one of those trucks that repairs itself!
