Check with Dave Smith motors in Kellog ID you can probably get the same truck for less than 30k.
In fact I wouldn't doubt if you shop some you could get down to 25k. They are desperate to sell trucks right now.

Well I think people are now getting wind of the deals so the amount of '08 left over are getting sucked up. When I got mine there were 6 like trucks on the lot. I only have 1200 miles on mine and the dealer has no trucks left. so they are hard up to get them gone. If you can go lower do it. I had my wife on the cell phone yelling in to it "don't make the deal." They heard that and kept going lower. Mine was 50,001 after the dealer mark up. I got it down to 34,500. I would do it.

Ha I'd yell at ya in the back ground to help you save a few grand. But you'd have to pay my agent.
Couple of weeks ago they were advertiseing 17k off msrp so if that's real close push a little they will probably budge. Tell them what you could buy it for at another dealer some will deal others won't.

well sadly, after reading many posts about the new ones, im not sure it would be a good truck for me.. I cant run my Bio in them, i commute less than 8 mi. a day, I never haul anything super heavy. ( I only have a diesel because I get the Bio almost free) and I dont want to have problems in a new $$$$$ rig..

thanks guys for the help though!!

its still a helpfull thread.. i further read that you can remove much of the new emissions crap... it just seem like allota $$$ for the chances of problems that are showing up as well.. Pre- buyers remorse???

I'd also check around and see what others have to offer. The amount of truck sales normally allows Dave Smith to beat any deal you could possibly get, but I doubt you'll get it Down to $25K. I was watching a recent post which people were listing what they got there trucks for, most "good" deals were in the $14-17K off the MSRP depending on the models. The higher the MSRP (ie a Laramie with all options), the higher the amount off the MSRP.

Well fellers, I found the thread interesting as I'm approaching 100k trouble free miles on my '05 Hemi powered 2500HD. Hasn't been back to the dealership for anything. No flashes, fixes or service of any kind. Now I'm thinking of going back to the dark side for my 5th Cummins powered Ram. Our local dealer has an '07 leftover new duplicate of my truck but with the 6.7L and 6spd auto. It's list price is $42,500~~ and my truck should be worth about $9k trade in. It's as clean as the day I bought it. Not sure what I should offer or if I should turn the other way. My daily work route is about 34 to as much as 85~ miles. Mostly city stop and go always up to running temps and some highway. Our 5th wheel gets taken out 6-8 times a year. I'd really like to have it but I don't want to become a dealership fly. What should I offer or should I run from it?

No more than 25k with out your trade. The one I just bought MSRP 41,760 I got for 24k no trade. You've got to be willing to look else where or pay their price though. Get on line a find a couple more like it and play them against each other, nothing like competition.

Thanks for the input Tree DR. Salesman said he would take $25k for it as they want it gone. I went to look at it and although it's a beautiful truck, they had a gooseneck turnover ball hitch installed. The brackets are welded and would interfere with my Reese 5th wheel bed rail brackets. The truck only has 84 miles on it and hasn't been titled but they did the hitch to try to sell it to some horse folks at the Tampa Bay Downs horse track. If I had a gooseneck instead of a 5th wheel, it would be perfect. They have an '08 duplicate but in dark metallic grey. I like it but would prefer white. He said they would take $28 for it. I'm sure that means plus a few items but I'm thinking about it.
