Smile New Oxy Sensors

I have had my truck in the shop nearly every month since new but this time they did something that sounds promising. Last month the Cummings team looked at it and today they put 2 NEW O2 sensors in (re-engineered ? thats what the service mgr stated) put in the new flash and wrapped the exhaust pipe. I am hoping this will cure my CEL problems.

Hope it works for you Jim.
I fixed my issues without the help of Dodge...

After 10,000 miles when I pull my O2 sensors they were still very clean and all the soot just wiped off on my finger. Hard to believe they are so sensitive that the tiniest amount of soot would cause all those issues. They supposedly came up with some kind of shield to keep them from sooting up so quickly...

they wrap only a small section, after the cat, and only the pipe. it's to protect the wiring harness.
the soot will wipe off the sensor, and the hole in the bottom, it what needs to be clear. the rest of ther sensor is a shield

I feel your pain JimC. I have had my truck since 4/07 and been in shop 5 times already. I had turbo burn up and replaced. Some recall, I think G30 maybe. And O2 sensors replaced 3 times now. The last one they did say someting about some new sensor and also about the wrapping. I am still trying to figure out just what they did wrap. I was worried about buying the 6.7 when I did but could not find a 5.9 with options I wanted. Maybe they will get all this straightened out soon.
